Driveway crossing east of intersection with Vila do Porto Boulevard. The trail continues here in the former rail alignment south of Main Street, however almost all destinations are on the north side of Main Street, making the trail less practical for local transportation than for recreation. Note the two stop signs for drivers exiting the driveway -- one before the trail (right side of photo just in front of the large boulder); the other at Main Street (left side of photo). A vehicle waiting at the second stop sign would at least partially block the trail, one of the classic problems with a sidepath. There is, on the other hand, no stop line or stop sign for traffic entering the driveway. Problems could have been avoided by routing the trail farther from the road, perhaps entirely behind the parking lot, rather than simply following the old railroad alignment. Improvements to Main Street are necessary if local bicycle traffic is to be well-served.
